FREE WATER |
| Why use drinking quality water for all your water needs? It’s really only necessary for cooking and drinking. A half-acre urban lot in northwest Iowa receives approximately 500,000 gallons of rain water a year. Why not use this free water for your vegetables, flowers, and lawn? You could even use this naturally soft water to wash your car! |
| Not only will this save you money, it will save Storm Lake. Running water is a collector. It likes to pick up anything and everything it happens by. This not only includes paper cups and fast food wrappers, but also motor oil, grass clippings, and pet waste. Anything lying on the ground has the potential to be picked up and carried to the lake by stormwater. | |
| Stop by the Stormwater Education booth in downtown Storm Lake on Saturday, July 25 between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm to learn more about making and using rain barrels. There will be 2 free rain barrel making sessions during the evening. Registration is limited to 30 adults. | |
